Canada defeated the United States in sudden death overtime in the Gold Medal game this past Sunday to close out a historic Winter Games for the United States which went home with the top overall medal count and a surprising silver medal in Hockey. To fully appreciate how many people cared about this game and it's killer story line, check out this fact from Sports Media Watch.com: The game drew higher overnight ratings than every World Series game since 2004, every NBA Finals telecast since 1998 and every NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four game since at least '98.

In other less epic, but similarly interesting news (to us anyway ;-), Jeff and Voiceover artist Peter D. Michael recently produced a spot touting Nortel’s (actually Avaya's- more on that later) historic contribution to the technical side of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Jeff and Pete have been putting together commercial and industrial music and VO packages for companies large and small since 2008. LISTEN to the Nortel spot (#06) and fill out a project request form if you’d like to explore possibilities for your company.

Now here's the postscript to this commercial and a US Olympic business victory you may not have known about: Shortly after the spot was completed, but before the 2010 Winter Games, Nortel sold it's enterprise business to Avaya, so actually, the US-based Avaya was the "Official Converged Network Equipment Supplier for the 2010 Winter Games." Thanks to Mark Evans and his All About Nortel website for the knowledge.
